The incident light passes through the liquid crystal layer aligned in parallel and does not change the direction of travel by the straight line. The emitted light can not pass through the upper polarizing plate, thus exhibiting an opaque black state. , The liquid crystal molecules will twist, resulting in birefringence in the liquid crystal layer, which will change the direction of the incident light travel through the upper polarizing plate, showing light transmission state. When the liquid crystal molecules are aligned in a direction smaller than the inclination angle, the viewing angle of the black state is increased, and the viewing angle of the light-to-darkness ratio is widened.
